Our Mission

" Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:19-20 NIV

When St. Paul's Congregational Church began in 1989, we expressed our desire to be "a gathered people, called to glorify God".

A gathered people, called to glorify God; with Jesus Christ as head, the Scriptures as our authority, empowered by the Holy Spirit; committed to the worship of God, to personal Christian growth, and to loving and caring for one another;
called by God into our community and beyond; to make Christ known and to share His love in a sacrificial,
life-changing way.

To achieve that goal, we made a two-pronged commitment:

"We uphold the Sovereignty of Jesus Christ and The Authority of Scripture."

Because of this process our expressed mission statement
can be rendered down to just four words:

1. We are PEOPLE of God

(i) People in Unity - John 17
(ii) People in Fellowship - I John 1:1-4
(iii) People Worshipping - John 4:22-24
(iv) People Praying - II Chron. 7:14

2. We have a clear and distinct PURPOSE

To go unto all the world physically by sending missionaries and by giving money to world missions. And go into our world of Chatham-Kent through prayers, evangelism, and by loving our community. Matthew 28:18-20

3. We know the source of our POWER

(i) The Holy Spirit - Acts 1:8
(ii) The Written Word of God - II Tim. 3:16

4. We are in existence with one Mandate - to PROCLAIM

(i) Jesus Christ as Lord - Phil. 2:11
(ii) The gospel - I Cor. 15: 1-3
